The good thing about being really lazy when it comes to blogging is that i´m very busy working, so despite the fact that there´s not much to read i´ve worked a lot.

I haven´t been able to work a lot on my own projects, the short movie is in the funding phase and the screenplays had to wait since i worked for commercials. But nevertheless, money never is a bad thing and i won´t complain, i´ll have time for my projects. Soon. Big promise to myself.

You might have noticed the different layout of my website (yes dear feed-readers, klick on the title) - from time to time i get fed up with the old one and have to work on a face lift.

The good thing with a personal website is that you are not so bound to a corporate identity. I tried to use the little tree as some kind of logo for me, now i use a different tree which i like better. Next thing to do are my business cards and hopefully i can stand the new layout for some time now.

Comments on the layout are welcome but i won´t make any major changes since i´m already fed up with webdesign and it was quite a conquest to update this page.

So now back to work (of which i´ve got plenty) and back to some more blogging (the monthly wrap-up is in work)…

First things first: the EURO 08 is over. While Austria is not that famous for beeing very enthusiastic about our football team the EURO changed everything. Austria has gained confidence in their team and football in general has become more important - if that´s a good thing or not is anyone’s guess.

My collegue Thomas Waldek and myself have been shooting fan messages that where shown in the stadium after we edited them. I can now say that i can cheer and sing for 16 different nations - nice ;)

Anyway, this will be my last post about football, and i thought i´d include some picture i have taken. The EURO was a good chance to play around with my new Nikon D80, so my flickr page might be worth a visit.
My favourite picture of all is the last one of the four here, i´ve taken it in the fan zon in Vienna when BlocoX (a samba group) was performing.

My next short movie: I Will Help You

Now back to all the serious stuff: moviemaking. As i mentioned in previous posts i´m currently working on a new short film together with Joana Adesuwa Reiterer. The screenplay is so far finished, it might need some tweaks here and there but in general i´m very happy with it.

Another great piece of news is that Johanna Tschautscher, who just finished her documentary “Europe, beyond the dream” which follows African refugees on their flight from Africa to Vienna, will co-direct the movie with myself.
I´m very happy to have such an interesting directing partner on that project, since Johanna has got great experience with documentaries it will be a very interesting collaboration.

The title of the movie is not that set in stone right now, the working title will be “I Will Help You” so far.

The movie will be about human trafficking (as mentioned in earlier posts), it will focus on the teenage protagonist Ayo. I won´t spoil any more of the story, but i can say that the movie will use different timelines to tell the story.

Joana is just about to organize an awareness film exhibition in Africa where this short movie will be shown (besides others of course).

So far to my current project, i´m really excited and can´t wait for the pre-production to begin, but for now we have to search for sponsors and fundings.
