The canadian screenwriter Jill Golick started a very innovative concept of storytelling: Story2Oh!. The way she wants to tell the story is not just a new style of movie, theater play or novel, it involves different social platforms like Facebook, Flickr, Twitter and many more.
The idea behind the concept is character driven storytelling, she created some fictional characters that are represented via the social platforms, all of the for example have a Facebook account, one is twittering, others write blogs. Some time ago i wrote about blogs of fictional people, Natalie, Monks assistant, blogs about her life with Monk.
So now Jill took the idea one step further, you can follow the story through the different platforms, the inciting incident is when one of the protagonists, Ali Barret changes her relationship status on her facebook profile to “single”, and for Simon Beals this change of status has a meaning…
I´m really curious following the story to unfold, the first chapter started last monday: Chapter I.
For sure this way of reading, or better, following a story won´t be appropriate for everyone, but which way is? Some prefer books, some movies, and this is a great thing for a special audience (an new audiences as well).
I wish Jill all the best with this project, it´s a great idea and a fresh approach to storytelling.
