I´ve just been involved in another shooting for a EURO 2008 commercial, this time for KIA (the last one was McDonalds).
Besides the mass of commercials beeing produced for the EURO everyone wants to have a piece of the cake, there is football shaped Pizza, nearly every shop sells fan products and if you watch TV our local football players take part in almost 1/3 of the spots.
While the EURO will be a huge boost for our economy it´s quite interesting to see reactions of foreign people when they stay in Vienna.
When you live here you almost forget how beautiful this city is, but since i´ve done some sightseeing with the Korean Production i freshened my meaning of Vienna, it is really beautiful and clean.
But you are also confronted with the high living standard we´ve got here and the really strong social system. Right with the high living standard you have to face the incredible high prices here (everything costs about 50% since the Euro currency was introduced, but the earnings haven´t been raised in any relation).
So below the line it´s like this: Austria is beautiful but really expensive, the social system is strong but getting worse, the EURO will be great for economy but everything will get more expensive during that time and in the near future and the earnings will not be able to compete…
You may have heard of the Stop Uwe Boll Petition, he claimed that if 1 million people would sign it he would stop making movies.
Until now i really didn´t care if he makes crappy movies or not, many people do that and many will continue to do so and as long as i am not forced to watch them - so what.
Today Uwe Boll gave a statement to the petition, here is a quote:
Look, I’m not a F**king retard like Michael Bay or other people running around in the business… or Eli Roth making the same shitty movies over and over again. If you really look in my movies you will see my real genius,” Boll said in a video statement. “You have to really wake up and see me what I am, the only genius in the whole f**king business.
Right after that statement i signed the petition, making stupid movies is one thing, but insulting honorable moviemakers and truly believe that you are great is another. Here is the full video:
Another thing that´s kind of funny is that Uwe Boll´s dialect is exactly like Bruno from Ali G, here is a video to compare:

Thats what i´m doing right now. Not really in a literal way, but nevertheless exhausting.
Although i´ve sworn myself not to work on any websites other than my own again i´m still doing it. I´m currently struggling to keep my creative mind over water and not drown in work that i really don´t like to do anymore.
To be honest it´s a little bit worse, there will always be work that you don´t want to do, but this is also work that doesnt have a benefit for me except a little money and there would be so much more interesting stuff to do right now.
But hey, that´s life, and i´m doing it for friends, that´s what i keep saying to myself. I think that´s part of the game, and if i´m really hardworking i can save my drowning creative mind out of the dirty water of work before it´s too late.
